Saving Money in the strangest places

[Disclaimer:  This post is a year late, ha I wrote it last year and never posted it…but guess what, the content is still relevant!]

Recently, I went to the dollar tree to get a card holder for my purse that I had seen on someone’s youtube video. While in there, I decided I wanted to get my baby girl some plastic Easter eggs. The colors are so bright and she likes taking things apart and putting them back together. While in the store, I remembered I was supposed to pick up some birthday cards for my Grandmother. I had been in Dollar Tree many times and never had I paid any attention to their selection of greeting cards. Well, this day I was pleasantly surprised because not only were they a decent quality but the sentiments in the cards were really nice. Needless to say I was able to get all the cards I needed that day…and the kicker is they are 2 for $1.00!!! Well, a week later, still in search for the card holder, I went to another dollar tree on another side of town. Well this one was bigger than the original one I had visited and man did I hit the jackpot in their card section. Check out these beautiful cards. Now these are plain on the inside, but look at the packaging and the card itself.

The purple is my favorite of the two but I love them both. When you do the math you see that each card and envelope is approximately $.11 including tax!!!! Seriously?!?!!? So there you have it, my money saving tip for the month (ha because who knows when the next one will come). You can get greeting cards and all purpose cards from the dollar store (Dollar Tree to be exact). Considering I decided at the beginning of the year I wanted to do a better job of sending cards to family members on their birthday’s and anniversary’s, I have hit a Savings jackpot!

So the next time you are in the dollar store, take a second to just browse around. Some things are definitely worth the $1.00 and others…well you need to think about carefully. We hope you found this money saving tip helpful!
